How to connect Kaufland to the portal: API keys, storefronts, tracking numberBeta

This integration is in beta: it follows the marketplace's official documentation, errors are possible — check orders and stock in the marketplace's seller account.

Kaufland connects with a pair of keys from the Seller Portal: a Client Key and a Secret Key. The portal pulls orders from the storefronts you select onto your kanban (each in its own storefront currency), marks an order as shipped with a tracking number, cancels it with a Kaufland reason, and uploads stock and prices to your primary storefront.

Creating product listings, tickets, Kaufland labelsnoAll of this is done in the Seller Portal

The integration follows the Kaufland Seller API documentation and specification. It has not yet been verified against a live account, so check your first orders carefully.

2. Before you start

  • A Kaufland Global Marketplace seller account with an active contract.
  • Products listed on the storefronts you need: the portal updates stock and prices of offers that already exist.
  • Offer SKUs in Kaufland that match the SKUs of your products in the portal (if there is no SKU, the portal finds the product by EAN).
  • The Web Plus plan: the "Marketplaces" section is available on it (currently in beta).
  • The marketplace connections permission for your role in the workshop.

3. Where to get the keys

  1. Open the Kaufland Seller Portal.
  2. Go to Settings → API.
  3. Create a pair of keys: a Client Key and a Secret Key.
  4. Copy both right away. The Secret Key is shown only once and cannot be recovered. If you lose it, create a new pair and replace the keys in the connection.

Give the keys only to the portal. If they leak, revoke the pair in the Seller Portal and create a new one.

4. Connect in the portal

  1. Open "Marketplaces" → "Connections" and click "Connect" next to Kaufland.
  2. Paste the Client Key and the Secret Key. The country, currency and time zone are filled in automatically (Germany, euro, Berlin) and can be changed in the connection settings.
  3. The portal checks the keys and saves them only after a successful check. Only the keys are checked here; you choose storefronts in the next step.
  4. Click "Open settings" and, in the "Kaufland storefronts" block, tick the storefronts you want orders from: Germany, Austria, Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, France, Italy. The currency of each is shown next to it. If nothing is ticked, orders are taken from all storefronts in your account.
  5. Choose the "Primary storefront": stock and prices are uploaded to it. If you do not choose one, the first ticked storefront is used.
  6. Turn on the kinds of write you need: "Order actions", "Stock", "Prices".

You do not need to choose a warehouse: Kaufland stock is tied to the storefront. The portal sets the required internal warehouse parameter itself when you save the storefronts.

5. Orders

ReturnThe column does not change; an entry appears on the "Returns" tab
  • One Kaufland order can consist of several units. The order status in the portal is a summary: among the units that are still active, the earliest stage is used. If units have different statuses, you can see it in the order details.
  • Currency. The order total is stored in the storefront currency: Germany, Austria, Slovakia, France and Italy use euro; Czechia uses koruna (CZK); Poland uses zloty (PLN). In the order card, the warehouse and finance the total appears in your workshop currency at the rate of the day the order first appeared in the portal. The rate does not change afterwards. Two storefronts in one connection produce orders with different currencies and rates.
  • Stock. A linked item is written off once, when the order appears, and returned once if the order is cancelled. An order that arrives already completed does not write off stock.
  • Deadline. The date by which the order must be shipped appears in the order card, the calendar and "To-do".
  • Partial cancellation: see below (section 7).

Actions on the order page

All actions go through a queue, and the result and a clear hint if something fails are shown in the "Log".

  • "Pack" (mark as shipped). Kaufland accepts a shipment only with a tracking number and a carrier code, so for Kaufland the "Pack" window shows the "Tracking number" field (you can add several) and the "Carrier code" field. Common carriers can be chosen from a list: DHL, DPD, GLS, Hermes, UPS, DHL_FREIGHT, Deutsche Post, PostNL; if yours is not in the list, choose "Other" and enter the code as it appears in the Seller Portal. If the workshop order already has a tracking number, it is filled in for you. The button is unavailable without a tracking number and a carrier code. All units of the order that have not been shipped yet are marked; an order that has already been shipped is not shipped again.
  • Cancel. Pick the reason from Kaufland's list (10 reasons, such as "Out of stock", "Buyer asked to cancel", "Price error" and others). Kaufland has no comment field for cancellations. Only units that have not been shipped yet are cancelled.

6. Stock and prices

  • One storefront is uploaded: the primary one. The portal does not touch stock and prices on the other storefronts.
  • Prices are sent in the currency of the primary storefront. If the primary storefront is Polish, prices are sent in zloty; if Czech, in koruna. Check that the price in the portal matches that currency.
  • A Kaufland product is found by SKU (the offer id) and, if there is none, by EAN.
  • Batches of up to 150 products per request. Kaufland's response is processed per product, so an error on one does not stop the others.
  • The upload runs only when the "Stock"/"Prices" toggles are on, writing to the marketplace is open and the connection is not paused.

7. Limitations

  • Stock and prices are uploaded only to the primary storefront.
  • Partial cancellation. If the buyer or Kaufland cancels some units of an order, only the remaining units stay in the marketplace shipment. Cancelling part of a line reduces the item quantity and the order revenue by the cancelled units.
  • You cannot create or change a product listing: only in the Seller Portal. Tickets and Kaufland Shipment Solutions labels are not supported.
  • A return does not restock the warehouse by itself: inspect the item and put it back manually.
  • The live Kaufland account has not been verified yet.

9. Security

  • The keys are stored encrypted and are not shown after saving; requests to Kaufland carry only a signature, never the Secret Key itself.
  • Writing to Kaufland is enabled separately: by default the portal only reads.
  • You can pause the connection.
  • Requests to Kaufland go through the portal's server in Finland.
  • Permissions: "Marketplace orders", "Marketplace listings", "Marketplace finance".
