Electricity tariff: single or day/night

How to set the price per kWh if you have a single-rate or multi-rate meter.

The cost of electricity in a calculation depends on the printer's power, print hours and your tariff.

How it works

  1. Open "Settings → Calculations" and find the "Electricity" block.
  2. Choose a mode: "Single tariff" is one price per kWh for the whole day, or "Day / Night" is separate rates.
  3. For "Day / Night", enter the price of a daytime and a nighttime kWh and how many hours of the day fall in the daytime zone. Night hours are calculated automatically (24 minus the day hours).
  4. If you don't want electricity counted, turn off "Include electricity in calculations": electricity cost in calculations becomes zero.
  5. The calculator splits print hours between the zones and calculates electricity for each part separately.

The printer's power (in watts) is set in its card. See Printers and dryers.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to enter the time of day of printing? No, the calculator distributes the print duration across zones automatically.

Electricity came out as zero. Check that a printer with a power rating is selected in the calculation.

If something goes wrong

If tariff changes didn't affect old orders, that is normal: saved orders aren't recalculated automatically. Open the order and click "Recalculate".
