Backup, sync and cloud — what's the difference

Three different mechanisms: automatic phone and site sync, a data backup, and the Sync tab in settings.

These three things are easy to mix up, but they do different jobs.

How it works

  1. Automatic sync (Web Plus). Orders, clients, warehouse and settings sync on their own between the app and the site of one account. It works automatically; just sign in with the same account. The time of the phone's last successful sync is shown in "Settings → Sync". App sync is available only to the workshop owner and co-owner.
  2. Backup ("Settings → Backups"). A full copy of all data:
    • "Local" — download and upload a JSON file; restoring replaces all data;
    • "Yandex.Disk" and "Google Drive" — scheduled auto-backup and version history (on the site with Web Plus). See Export, Restore and Cloud auto-backup.
  3. The "Sync" tab in settings. This is not a connection status or an auto-sync switch, but a manual export and import of calculation settings and reference lists only (markup, rates, brands, types). Orders, warehouse and clients are not included. Import asks for confirmation and is added on top of what exists.

What to choose: to move to a new device with everything — a backup; to quickly transfer rates and reference lists — the "Sync" tab; to work on the phone and the site at the same time — auto-sync.

FAQ

Do I need a subscription for the app? No, the app works on any plan; syncing with the site is a Web Plus feature.

A team member doesn't sync. That's expected: team members work on the site, see Team.

If something's wrong

Data on the phone and the site has diverged — see Sync conflicts.
