Print queue and the "when will the printer be free" forecast
The "By printer" mode on the kanban board shows each printer's queue and warns you when an order won't meet its due date.
The queue forecast works on the Web Plus plan and helps you see in advance that an order won't make it in time.
How it works
- Open "Production" and turn on the "By printer" mode. Horizontal lanes, one per printer, appear on the board.
- The lane header shows how many orders are in the queue and when the printer will be free.
- The queue is made up of orders with the statuses "Printing", "Printer assigned" and "Confirmed".
- The estimate equals the remainder of the current print plus the print hours of the following orders back to back, with no downtime.
- If an order won't meet its due date, the lane is highlighted in red and the card shows the note "Will miss the due date: ready ~...".
For the forecast, orders must have a printer and a print time specified.
FAQ
Are breaks for spool changes and nights taken into account? No, the estimate assumes no downtime, so leave yourself a buffer.
How do I change the queue order? Drag cards within a column and the "Manual queue" turns on.
If something goes wrong
No forecast: make sure the order has a printer and a print time and that the "By printer" mode is on. The estimate differs from reality: the estimate assumes no downtime, so leave a buffer for spool changes and bed preparation.
