Price modes, markup, taxes and discount
Four ways to get the sale price (Auto, Markup, Price, Profit) and how complexity, taxes, marketplace commission and discount affect it.
In the "Cost breakdown" panel, a switch with four tabs determines how the calculator arrives at the sale price.
How it works
- "Auto". You don't need to enter anything: the price equals the cost price plus the default markup from settings.
- "Markup". You enter a percentage for this calculation only. It temporarily replaces the markup from settings.
- "Price". You enter the final price manually, and the profit is calculated from it "in reverse".
- "Profit". You enter the profit you want in rubles, and the calculator works out the "Recommended sale price". If the target can't be reached, a warning appears.
Below, you can add:
- Complexity markup: "Simple", "Medium", "Complex". The percentages are set in "Settings → Calculations" (10, 20 and 30 by default).
- Marketing coefficient: a percentage on top. In the "Auto", "Markup" and "Profit" modes it is added to the price and subtracted from the displayed profit; in the "Price" mode it doesn't change the price and only reduces the profit.
- Tax regime: choose one of your saved regimes or enter your own percentage. The "Add tax rate" button lets you apply several taxes at once, and they are added together. See Taxes.
- Marketplace: the marketplace commission (a percentage plus a fixed amount) or a custom commission.
- Client discount (in the "Sale" block), in percent or rubles.
FAQ
Why did the profit after a discount drop more than the discount itself? Tax, marketplace commission and acquiring are calculated from the price that already includes the discount, while the cost price stays the same.
How is "Price" different from the simulation sliders? The "Price" field changes the actual calculation, while the sliders don't. See Price simulation.
If something goes wrong
- The price came out as zero or looks odd: check the markup base. It must contain at least one item with an amount.
- Acquiring wasn't taken into account: enable it in "Settings → Taxes", see Acquiring.
