Why doesn't the tool fix the model automatically?

Robustly auto-fixing arbitrary holes and non-manifold topology is a hard computational problem, and there's no lightweight, openly-licensed WASM library ready to embed in a browser for it. We checked available options (including manifold-3d) — they require an already-valid mesh as input rather than repairing an arbitrarily broken one. So the tool is honestly scoped to diagnostics.

What does "non-manifold edge" mean?

An edge shared by more than two triangles (or by exactly one — a hole boundary). In a real solid, every edge is shared by exactly two faces — a deviation means a slicer may miscompute what's inside vs. outside the model.

What should I do if issues are found?

Accepted Answer

Open the model in Meshmixer (Analysis → Inspector fixes it in one click), Windows 3D Builder (the "Repair" button), or use your slicer's repair filter (PrusaSlicer/OrcaSlicer use Netfabb-based auto-repair when importing an invalid STL).

Does it check for self-intersecting faces?

Accepted Answer

Not in this version — a reliable self-intersection check needs heavier computation (a BVH traversal) not included in the current diagnostics.
