Where is the silk vase generator?

It's now part of this designer: open the Silk group in the quick looks. Lobes, the spiral twist and the smooth bottom–belly–rim profile work as before, and you also get textures, cross-sections, planters and two-color printing.

What is silk filament and why give a vase lobes?

Silk PLA is a filament with a glossy, pearlescent finish. Smooth curved surfaces — lobes and a twist — show off its shimmer far better than flat ones: the highlight runs around the vase in a spiral.

Vase mode or solid wall — which one?

Accepted Answer

Vase mode (spiral vase) is the fastest and prettiest option for decor and silk PLA: the slicer prints the wall as one spiral line, which is why you download a solid body. Solid wall is a model with a real wall and bottom thickness — for water, planters and sturdy vases.

Can the vase hold water?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with a solid wall: 3–4 perimeters and 15%+ infill. FDM printing doesn't guarantee fully watertight layer seams, so coat the inside of the bottom and lower walls with epoxy for extra safety. A single-wall vase-mode print may seep — it's better for dried flowers.

How do I print a vase in two colors?

Accepted Answer

On the Look step turn on “Two colors by height” and choose where the color changes. The set then includes vase-2-colors.3mf, a Bambu Studio / OrcaSlicer project with the bottom and top already assigned to different filaments. Without an AMS, download the regular file and add a filament-change pause at the shown height.

How do I make a planter with drainage and a saucer?

Accepted Answer

Pick the “Planter with saucer” look or the “Plant pot” purpose: the bottom gets a drainage hole, and a saucer for water prints as a separate part sized to the vase bottom with a gap.

What does “Surprise me” do?

Accepted Answer

It builds a random vase from profiles, cross-sections, textures and twist — within limits that print without supports. Every vase has a number: enter it again to get the same shape.

Is the bottom really sealed?

Accepted Answer

Yes, always and in both modes — that's a rule of the designer. A hole appears only if you turn on drainage for a planter yourself.

Which formats can I download?

Accepted Answer

STL and 3MF for any slicer, plus a two-color 3MF for Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer. The model is built in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server.

How do I make a sleeve for a glass vase?

Accepted Answer

Pick a look from the Glass sleeves group, or choose Glass sleeve on the Print step, then enter the glass diameter at the bottom and top, its height and the clearance (1.5 mm by default). The sleeve is built so the glass slides in from the top, and the rim cut “like water” reveals it on one side. The preview shows the glass as translucent; it isn't included in the file.

How much does it cost to print a vase?

Accepted Answer

It depends on weight and print time. On the last step press “Calculate price” — the 3D Print Pricing calculator opens with this vase's grams and hours, you only pick the filament and printer.

Can I make a planter with legs, an insert and a saucer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pick the “Plant pot” purpose or a look from the “Planters” group, then turn on drainage, saucer, legs and insert on the “Print” step. Every part prints without supports: legs print foot down and plug into sockets in the bottom, the drained insert hangs on its shoulders from the rim, and the saucer can have bumps so the planter doesn't stand in water. The main button gives one STL with all parts; the archive also has an STL for each part.
